As a scout I just always had the silent experience of feeling like the culture of scouting, camping, or any experience of general "outdoorsmanship" was an inherent appropriation and mockery of Indigenous life, aimed to be enjoyed as a temporary recreational activity designed to humanize the land theft and environmental destruction of the genocidal colonizer without regard to the disrespectful nature of their continued occupation.
Scouting in America has been used as a pipeline to groom and breed white supremacist terrorists. It is a direct manufacturer and perpetuator of continued terroristic colonization today. And they wonder why they have a hard time getting Black kids involved with scouting.
Scouting is a stolen experience.
Scouting is a stolen experience.
Scouting is an appropriation of the initiation ceremonies and leadership training experienced in Indigenous military.
Donate to our fundraiser today so that we can buy land to build private tribal reservations.
